Thanksgiving 2010 |
GIVING THANKS...
©Kerrie O'Hearn Marquart
When first I fold my hands in prayer,
All those far away, are present here.
If not in sight but in my heart,
God unites us in every part~
Together on this day.
Another Thanksgiving memory
With family, a gift from God to me.
I will look back on this day
And smile at what was your way
To make me laugh as in time's past.
The warmth of candles, oven and love
Filling the kitchen, my heart and some
Left over to spill on days ahead
I'll remember all as I break bread~
On ordinary days.
All God's love shining down
As the Egret flies and Mallards come
Visiting the bank in Autumn sun
Gracing my world by the Holy One.
Thanking you for every tiny thing
You have ever given to me
Without you Lord,
Where would I be?

Here's hoping you are all having a wonderfully blessed Thanksgiving!

Oh, such a lovely poem!!! And the last lines say it ALL!! Hoping you are having a wonderful, joyous, and blessed Thanksgiving, Kerrie!
What a beautiful post Kerrie!.. and I thought your previous post was very interesting! I served a nice breakfast yesterday morning while the Macy's Parade was on, then the family scattered; so today I'm cooking and serving up the 20-lb. turkey dinner with all the fixin's! (We love leftovers!) Have to peel potatoes soon! Hope you and yours had a blessed and very Happy Thanksgiving, and that you'll enjoy this holiday weekend!! ((hugs)) ~tina
