My Pen...

My Pen...
    ©Kerrie O'Hearn Marquart
          (written in 2005)
At times, the words flow from my pen
As though it knows beginning to end
Just where my thoughts are flowing
The creativity burns within
To put on paper all that I am
To express my feeling for God and man.

What is my place and task upon this earth?
I look forward to God's guidance to show my worth
As a servant of the Lord.
Every day I have a quest
To see what God thinks will suit me best
And where best, I can serve Him.

Singing praises to my Lord
I love to sing among the crowd
I pray not to think of only me
But only of others, then I am free.

For in giving, I shall get
In loving, I shall be loved
In suffering, I will be comforted
In going without
God will dwell within
Filling my growing heart.

I was visited by an astonishing young man today and in visiting his Christian blog, I was pleasantly surprised at his wisdom and honesty.  Click on his name on the comment from the last post and you will be glad you did!

Have a wonderful Memorial Day and remember all of those who are keeping us a free nation where we can worship as we choose and express our views without fear of retaliation!  God Bless America!

                          A Song in my Heart
                                    ©Kerrie O'Hearn Marquart

There’s a song in my heart
that is crying to be sung.
There’s a battle in my soul
that is waiting to be won.
There’s a high road to the Lord,
    waiting to be walked,
And a word of praise
that is waiting to be talked.
Let me never lose the desire
   to know thee better Lord,
Let me thirst for Living Water;
show me where to drink it, Lord.

                      Evening Prayer

Lord, touch my weary head,
Bless my sleep in this our bed.
Bless our dreams with sweetness and song,
So we can face the morning dawn,
Bless us when we wake in morning light
And arm us so that we might fight
The good fight for ~ Thee, Lord.

The Bible tells us to "Pray for our enemies."  For what God has in store for them is much worse than we could ever wish them.  All things happen in the Lord's timing, not in ours.  God bless all those who lost loved ones on 911.  The terrorist is dead.  Praying for peace in the world as always.

Thank you for visiting today and come back soon!  Wishing you peace in your heart in the week ahead...

God's Wondrous Works...

WE CANNOT DOUBT that God made everything and that all is divinely designed!  Our very bodies are a miracle work that could never happen by chance!  When I studied to be a Cardiac Care Technician, I was totally amazed that the heart has a fail-safe design in place to pump our blood.  The beat is begun by a single electrical charge.  YES, we have electricity in our bodies.  Our very own spark plug-ha!
If this initial spark in the sinus node of the heart fails, the junction takes over and if the junction fails, the ventricle takes over.  Do you really think this just was happenstance??  God created man IN HIS LIKENESS, He is truly amazing!

Genesis 1:26-27 "Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth.  So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them."

                     Joy Abounding
                             by Kerrie O'Hearn Marquart

Every morn I wake with Joy Abounding
To see all the works of God astounding
The bluest sky, the reddest Rose
The Mockingbird, the squirrel's nose!
The flowers asleep in my flower beds
Waiting for Spring to show their heads.

The Bluebird's call, the Robin's wing
The tree buds are fat, it is almost Spring
The Mallards swimming in the lake
They've come again, as for life they mate.

All the wonders of this earth
Were made by God, our life, our worth
And I thank Him now as well I should
For creating this day with all its good!

TWAS THE DAY AFTER CHRISTMAS...

ISAIAH 30:19-21
"Yea, O people in Zion who dwell at Jerusalem; you shall weep no more.  He will surely be gracious to you at the sound of your cry; when he hears it, he will answer you.  And though the Lord give you bread of adversity and the water of affliction, yet your Teacher will not hide himself any more, but your eyes shall see your Teacher.  And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, 'This is the way, walk in it', when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left." (I underlined to emphasize) Isaiah is talking about Christ's coming.
"This word shall come from behind you, from someone who you do not see, but who sees you.  Your eyes see your teachers; but this is a teacher out of sight, it is your own conscience, which shall now by the grace of God be awakened to do its work."
We cannot celebrate Christ on just this one day!  We need to celebrate Christ every day.  If we keep him in our heart and mind, he will be an everlasting presence, giving us comfort and solace.  We need only ask for help from Him.  Not like the people of Isaiah's time who looked to their neighbors for help one against another instead of looking UP^ for help.
"How gracious he will be when you cry for help, when you cry in your necessity, when that is most fervent.  As soon as he hears, there needs no more; at the first word he will answer you and say, Here I am."

TWAS THE DAY AFTER CHRISTMAS...
              ©Kerrie O'Hearn Marquart

Twas the Day after Christmas and all through the house,
The Spirit of Christmas still lingered for me and my spouse.
The peace of our Lord's birth still filled our hearts
Filling us up with love in our innermost parts.

Lord, let us keep the Spirit of your birth all year through
Whenever we're happy, whenever we are blue.
For You are with us through all of these things
And we treasure our faith in you and the warmth it brings.

You did not come today to be gone tomorrow.
You lived among us, died for us, rose for us.
You are here right now and will be
In ALL our tomorrows!
