Today Christ Died but Sunday is almost here...

Today is Good Friday, the Day Christ gave his life to pay for the sins of us ALL.  But Sunday is coming~after 3 days he arose again, the tomb was empty.  God gave his only begotten Son for you.  What can you give him in return?

Invite Jesus into your heart so that you may be given a new life as if you were born again from above. 2 Corinthians 5:17
He who is in Christ, is a new person, the old is gone, the new hath come.

You will be filled with joy and want to share with others that you are a new person.  Then find a Bible ~ Teaching church and attend.   Carry on the light that Jesus gave us of hope and eternity in Him who rose again.

God Bless you in your new walk with the Lord.  Christians do have fun.  God is so good, rejoice He has risen!

My Christian heart to yours.....

HAVE A BLESSED EASTER DAY!

Approaching GOOD FRIDAY

Can we even imagine the agony that our Lord endured on his journey to the cross?

The crowning of Jesus as King of the Jews~A wood cut
Carved by me in the 1980's

This Son of God was tortured and crucified while not having committed any crime, they could find nothing to charge him with and yet the people shouted "Crucify Him!"   What would you have done if you had been there?

For Christians, Good Friday is a crucial day of the year because it celebrates what we believe to be the most momentous weekend in the history of the world. Ever since Jesus died and was raised, Christians have proclaimed the cross and resurrection of Jesus to be the decisive turning point for all creation. Paul considered it to be “of first importance” that Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and was raised to life on the third day, all in accordance with what God had promised all along in the Scriptures (1 Corinthians 15:3).
On Good Friday we remember the day Jesus willingly suffered and died by crucifixion as the ultimate sacrifice for our sins (1 John 1:10). It is followed by Easter, the glorious celebration of the day Jesus was raised from the dead, heralding his victory over sin and death and pointing ahead to a future resurrection for all who are united to him by faith (Romans 6:5).
Ultimately Jesus gave up his life for our sins!  In the Old Testament under Jewish Law,  a sacrifice of an animal was offered for sin.  Jesus was the one and only perfect sacrifice for our sins so that we may live in eternity with the Lord and His only begotten Son.  Jesus said no one could come to the Father but through Him.
Have you made a commitment to God?  Have you invited Jesus into your heart, do you know how to?  When you pray inviting Jesus into your heart, and accept Him, that is when you are born again, meaning you start a new life in Christ.
I became born again in the 1980's while watching a TV Evangelist by praying that prayer.  If anyone had ever told me I would be doing that, I would have said "no way!"  But God was working in my life and in my family's life all at once.  God can use anyone or anything as His instrument.  I actually jumped for joy at the moment!  And I could not wait to tell everyone and any one!
I had previously been a Catholic and only knew an intercessional relationship to a punishing God who was unapproachable.  If you add anything to Jesus' dying on the Cross so we could be saved by Grace,  you deny His sacrifice.  You CAN have a personal relationship with God and Jesus, praying directly to them.  God has blessed me so much in these last 30 years after inviting Jesus into my heart!
Bow your head where you are right now and invite the Savior into your heart and accept God's gift of Salvation.  You do not have to start clouting people with a 2 x 4" to tell them about the Lord, just try to set a good example and God will give you the words to say when you have opportunity to share and invite.  Amazing Grace, How Sweet the Sound!  ♫ ♫  I think this is one of the most popular Hymns ever written.
Thank you for coming.  If you have questions, please ask and I will answer or get the answer for you if I do not know.
This Friday, think of the agony Christ endured on the Cross because God so loved the world that he gave us the gift of His Son.

HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON...

Who am I that a Savior lived and died for?  God gave us the best he had and His son was obedient to the Father when he died for our sins on the cross~the perfect sacrifice for all time... Thank you God for your Son, Thank you Jesus for dying that we might have eternal life!

Invite Jesus into your heart that you might be born again (start a new life, a change of heart).  You will know blessings you never knew before.  Wishing you all good things in this Holy Week.

GOOD FRIDAY....

GOOD FRIDAY...It is raining, how appropriate for Good Friday!!

Jesus was made to carry His own cross, Would you have dared to help Him??
Matt 32-37  "As they were on the way to the execution grounds they came across a man from Cyrene, in Africa-Simon was his name--and forced him to carry Jesus' cross.  Then they went out to an area known as Golgotha, that is, "Skull Hill," where the soldiers gave him drugged wine to drink; but when he had tasted it, he refused.  After the crucifixion, the soldiers threw dice to divide up his clothes among themselves.  Then they sat around and watched him as he hung there.  And they put a sign above his head, "This is Jesus, the King of the Jews."

And His Mama cried to see the agony of her son on the cross....because she could not help him....
Matt 45-52  "That afternoon, the whole earth was covered with darkness for 3 hours, from noon until three o'clock.  About three o'clock, Jesus shouted, "ELI, ELI, LAMA SABACHTHANI?" which means, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me."  Then Jesus shouted out again, dismissed his spirit and died.
And look!  The curtain secluding the Holiest Place in the Temple was slit apart from top to bottom; and the earth shook, and the rocks broke, and tombs opened, and many godly men

and women who had died came back to life again."

ON THIS DAY He died for you and for me.  The "perfect lamb" was sacrificed so that our sins would be forgiven forever more, that we would have eternal life with Jesus and His Father in heaven!!  No greater sacrifice was ever made!

Meditate on the cross today. I am fasting until 3:00p.m.  The rain and dark sky remind me of how it must have been that dark day when they crucified our Lord.  Imagine His pain and feel the words of the hymn, "When I survey the Wondrous Cross."  To hear, click on the video in the sidebar at the right.

What are your thoughts this Good Friday??  Share with others and with me by commenting today.

THANK YOU JESUS FOR DYING ON THE CROSS FOR US.  MAY WE ALWAYS SHOW OUR GRATITUDE AND LOVE FOR SUCH A WONDROUS GIFT.  Amen.
