Without a Cross there is no comfort...

What would we ever do without the cross?  The hymn below says it all...

WITHOUT HIS CROSS

Without His cross, there is not comfort.

Without His death, there is not life.

Without His blood, there is no pardon.

Without His Cross there is no crown.

Without His shame, there is no glory.

Without His grief, there is no joy.

Without His Stripes, there is no healing.

Without His cross there is no crown.

Lamb of God, you bring salvation, and with your grace, our hearts are sealed.

Lord with your tears of love you bathe our sorrows.

In your eyes we stand revealed.

Without His cross, there is not comfort.

Without His death, there is not life.

Without His blood, there is no pardon.

Without His Cross there is no crown.

Without His blood, there is no pardon.

Without His Cross there is no crown. (2x)

When God is dealing with my heart and soul, he touches me through music.  This hymn on YouTube in my sidebar makes my adrenalin flow with the Love for the Savior.  Listen.....  Thank you.

Today Christ Died but Sunday is almost here...

Today is Good Friday, the Day Christ gave his life to pay for the sins of us ALL.  But Sunday is coming~after 3 days he arose again, the tomb was empty.  God gave his only begotten Son for you.  What can you give him in return?

Invite Jesus into your heart so that you may be given a new life as if you were born again from above. 2 Corinthians 5:17
He who is in Christ, is a new person, the old is gone, the new hath come.

You will be filled with joy and want to share with others that you are a new person.  Then find a Bible ~ Teaching church and attend.   Carry on the light that Jesus gave us of hope and eternity in Him who rose again.

God Bless you in your new walk with the Lord.  Christians do have fun.  God is so good, rejoice He has risen!

HAVE A BLESSED EASTER DAY!

Approaching GOOD FRIDAY

Can we even imagine the agony that our Lord endured on his journey to the cross?

The crowning of Jesus as King of the Jews~A wood cut
Carved by me in the 1980's

This Son of God was tortured and crucified while not having committed any crime, they could find nothing to charge him with and yet the people shouted "Crucify Him!"   What would you have done if you had been there?

For Christians, Good Friday is a crucial day of the year because it celebrates what we believe to be the most momentous weekend in the history of the world. Ever since Jesus died and was raised, Christians have proclaimed the cross and resurrection of Jesus to be the decisive turning point for all creation. Paul considered it to be “of first importance” that Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and was raised to life on the third day, all in accordance with what God had promised all along in the Scriptures (1 Corinthians 15:3).
On Good Friday we remember the day Jesus willingly suffered and died by crucifixion as the ultimate sacrifice for our sins (1 John 1:10). It is followed by Easter, the glorious celebration of the day Jesus was raised from the dead, heralding his victory over sin and death and pointing ahead to a future resurrection for all who are united to him by faith (Romans 6:5).
Ultimately Jesus gave up his life for our sins!  In the Old Testament under Jewish Law,  a sacrifice of an animal was offered for sin.  Jesus was the one and only perfect sacrifice for our sins so that we may live in eternity with the Lord and His only begotten Son.  Jesus said no one could come to the Father but through Him.
Have you made a commitment to God?  Have you invited Jesus into your heart, do you know how to?  When you pray inviting Jesus into your heart, and accept Him, that is when you are born again, meaning you start a new life in Christ.
I became born again in the 1980's while watching a TV Evangelist by praying that prayer.  If anyone had ever told me I would be doing that, I would have said "no way!"  But God was working in my life and in my family's life all at once.  God can use anyone or anything as His instrument.  I actually jumped for joy at the moment!  And I could not wait to tell everyone and any one!
I had previously been a Catholic and only knew an intercessional relationship to a punishing God who was unapproachable.  If you add anything to Jesus' dying on the Cross so we could be saved by Grace,  you deny His sacrifice.  You CAN have a personal relationship with God and Jesus, praying directly to them.  God has blessed me so much in these last 30 years after inviting Jesus into my heart!
Bow your head where you are right now and invite the Savior into your heart and accept God's gift of Salvation.  You do not have to start clouting people with a 2 x 4" to tell them about the Lord, just try to set a good example and God will give you the words to say when you have opportunity to share and invite.  Amazing Grace, How Sweet the Sound!  ♫ ♫  I think this is one of the most popular Hymns ever written.
Thank you for coming.  If you have questions, please ask and I will answer or get the answer for you if I do not know.
This Friday, think of the agony Christ endured on the Cross because God so loved the world that he gave us the gift of His Son.

EASTER SEASON

EASTER is one of my favorite holidays if not THE favorite!  I love celebrating the Resurrection of our Lord.  Palm Sunday will be here soon, where has the time gone?

MAT 21:1-11

Now when they drew near to Jerusalem and came to Bethphage, to the Mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples, saying to them, “Go into the village in front of you, and immediately you will find a donkey tied, and a colt with her. Untie them and bring them to me. If anyone says anything to you, you shall say, ‘The Lord needs them,’ and he will send them at once.” This took place to fulfill what was spoken by the prophet, saying, “Say to the daughter of Zion, ‘Behold, your king is coming to you, humble, and mounted on a donkey, and on a colt, the foal of a beast of burden.’”

Even though Jesus wished to come into the city humbly, his followers laid palms in his pathway.

It was a practice of people's of the east to cover the ground that someone of high honor was walking on. You can see this happening in the Bible with king Jehu when the people lay their garments before him in 2 Kings 9:13. In Matthew and Mark's gospels only tree branches and clothes are described as being laid before Jesus. John is the only author who specifies "Palm" branches.

The idea is the same though: The people were honoring
Jesus the way they would honor a king.  So to answer the question of why the people lay palm branches before Jesus we have to ask what the people thought of Jesus to make them honor him in this way.

So the simplest answer to the question of why is that the Jewish people who lay palms and clothes before Jesus wanted to honor him because they thought he was their Messiah.

So the best way to understand the Bible is to read it more and more.  If the formal translations confuse you, buy a copy of "THE BOOK" published by Tyndale House (any bookstore) as it is a comprehensive Bible written in plain language that you will understand.  I use it as a wonderful cross reference to bible reading as it does not take the place of the Bible but rather makes you want to read the original after reading the plain text.  The Book also has many helps such as how to prayer for specific needs which is very helpful when you are in a situation and do not know how to pray for that specifically.

God bless you friends and do come again.  Celebrate the coming of Christ on Palm Sunday.
