GOD ON THE MOUNTAIN...

Are you going through the valleys of your life and sometimes feel a little lost and alone?  I feel that way sometimes as my hubby is in the 6th year of fighting terminal Multiple Myeloma in his spine.  But I remember that God is with us in all of our valley's just as he is when we are on the mountain top.  I used to sing special music as an invited guest at local churches quite often a few years back and one of my favorites to sing was "GOD ON THE MOUNTAIN".  It says so adequately that God is with us always and is so rousing with encouragement!  It was recorded by the McKamey family and I heard them sing it in person once.  Wonderful!  It has always been a comfort to me and while singing it, I feel JOY!  Perhaps when I find out how to post a video on here of myself singing it, I will.  Here are the words....

God On the Mountain

Life is easy, when you're up on the mountain
And you've got peace of mind, like you've never known.
But then things change and you're down in the valley.
But don't lose faith for you're never alone!

Chorus:For the God on the Mountain, is still God in the Valley,
When things go wrong, he'll make them right.
And the God in the good times, He's still God in the bad times,
The God of the day, he's still God in the night!

You talk of faith when you're you're up on the mountain.
Oh but the talk comes so easy, when life's at its best.
But when you're down in the valley, of trials and temptation,
That's when faith is really put to the test!

 Repeat Chorus.

Powerful words! Wonderful music.  Click in sidebar to hear the McKamey's sing this wonderful song.

Psalm 125:2 "As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the LORD is round about His people from henceforth even for ever."

HOPE....

HOPE fills the afflicted soul with such inward joy and consolation that it can laugh while tears are in the eye, sigh and sing all in one breath; it is called "the rejoicing of the hope." (Hebrews 3:6)  - William Gurnall

There is a great need for hope in all of our lives.  It may be hope for a healing, hope for a life to be spared, hope that we and the world may find peace.  If we did not find hope in Jesus and his promises, how else could we bare the ills that befall us and/or our loved ones.  And yet when our hopes are realized and we are rejoicing, we may forget to "thank" God for the blessings.

We cannot bargain with God, "If you give me this, I will do that" or "if you give me this, it will exhalt you even more!"  Have you ever done this?  I have.  I confess.  When I learned that my husband had Multiple Myeloma, I tried EVERYTHING in my praying to make a terminal cancer NOT be terminal for him.  Now five years in, I just thank God for every little moment that he lets us be together and I pray only for him to be free of pain.  If God offers more, we will be blessed and thankful!
I cannot "push" God.  Nor do I want to now.

My hubby's HOPE makes him smile after a night of pain in which he could not stand, sit or lie down because it was so severe.  He makes me laugh every day and I am glad to mop his perspiring brow when he is in the grip of pain.

The pain of Jesus on the Cross is a love story.  God so loved the world that he sent his only begotten son to save us.  Jesus loved us so much, he went to the cross willingly to save us once and for all time.  So we do not HOPE for salvation, we are blessed with it and all we have to do is confess our sins, have a change of heart and invite Jesus into our hearts.  Accept the gift.  He is waiting for us with open arms, he beckons to us.  Remember when Jesus beckoned to Peter to come into the boat but Peter's faith wavered and he began to sink.  Jesus had waves roll under his feet to keep him above the water.  We can make it to Jesus' open arms, we need only have faith.

I have sung that song many times in churches when I did special music and I loved the line, "When Simon Peter walked abreast, putting his faith unto the test, he said, Master wilt thou bidst me come to thee?  Jesus said, 'come' so Peter went and when his faith in him was spent, Peter sank low but Jesus had waves roll under his feet!  Under his feet, Under his feet, there's not a problem that you'll face, he cannot meet.  Whenever you've waded out too far in waters too deep, Remember when waves are over your head, He's under your feet!"

Jesus gives us the Hope that things will get better if we have Faith in Him.
Let Jesus and His father fill your whole heart and there will be no room for fear, sins, sadness, ad infinitum!  Thank you for visiting today, please come again soon!
