Come thou fount of every blessing...

Dear hearts, this hymn has so inspired me!  It brings tears to my eyes!  The Lord is so good and He sends the Holy Spirit to us, to comfort us whenever we are feeling low.  Play the hymn in the sidebar to the right to receive a blessing...

Come thou fount of every blessing

Come thou fount of every blessing,
Tune my heart to sing they grace;
Streams of mercy never ceasing,
Call for songs of loudest praise.
Teach me some melodious sonnet,
Sung by flaming tongues above.
Praise the mount!  I'm fixed upon it,
Mount of thy redeeming love.

Here I raise mine Ebenezer;
Hither by thy grace I come;
And I hope, by thy good pleasure
Safely to arrive at home.
Jesus sought me when a stranger,
Wandering from the fold of God;
He, to rescue me from danger,
Interposed his precious blood.

O to grace how great a debtor
Daily I'm constrained to be!
Let thy goodness, like a fetter,
Bind my wandering heart to thee.
Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it,
Prone to leave the God I love;
Here's my heart, O take and seal it,
Seal it for thy courts above.

Skaneateles Creek, Skaneateles, NY
God's flowing water from which we will never thirst...
fills our hearts with His sweet love and grace until we feel we will burst!

We are by nature fighting a constant battle to be with the Lord, trying to overcome our sinfulness.  We can only be saved by Grace Alone.
Be thy fount of every blessing for all who invite you Jesus into their hearts today ♥

Without a Cross there is no comfort...

What would we ever do without the cross?  The hymn below says it all...

WITHOUT HIS CROSS

Without His cross, there is not comfort.

Without His death, there is not life.

Without His blood, there is no pardon.

Without His Cross there is no crown.

Without His shame, there is no glory.

Without His grief, there is no joy.

Without His Stripes, there is no healing.

Without His cross there is no crown.

Lamb of God, you bring salvation, and with your grace, our hearts are sealed.

Lord with your tears of love you bathe our sorrows.

In your eyes we stand revealed.

Without His cross, there is not comfort.

Without His death, there is not life.

Without His blood, there is no pardon.

Without His Cross there is no crown.

Without His blood, there is no pardon.

Without His Cross there is no crown. (2x)

When God is dealing with my heart and soul, he touches me through music.  This hymn on YouTube in my sidebar makes my adrenalin flow with the Love for the Savior.  Listen.....  Thank you.

Today Christ Died but Sunday is almost here...

Today is Good Friday, the Day Christ gave his life to pay for the sins of us ALL.  But Sunday is coming~after 3 days he arose again, the tomb was empty.  God gave his only begotten Son for you.  What can you give him in return?

Invite Jesus into your heart so that you may be given a new life as if you were born again from above. 2 Corinthians 5:17
He who is in Christ, is a new person, the old is gone, the new hath come.

You will be filled with joy and want to share with others that you are a new person.  Then find a Bible ~ Teaching church and attend.   Carry on the light that Jesus gave us of hope and eternity in Him who rose again.

God Bless you in your new walk with the Lord.  Christians do have fun.  God is so good, rejoice He has risen!

HAVE A BLESSED EASTER DAY!

Approaching GOOD FRIDAY

Can we even imagine the agony that our Lord endured on his journey to the cross?

The crowning of Jesus as King of the Jews~A wood cut
Carved by me in the 1980's

This Son of God was tortured and crucified while not having committed any crime, they could find nothing to charge him with and yet the people shouted "Crucify Him!"   What would you have done if you had been there?

For Christians, Good Friday is a crucial day of the year because it celebrates what we believe to be the most momentous weekend in the history of the world. Ever since Jesus died and was raised, Christians have proclaimed the cross and resurrection of Jesus to be the decisive turning point for all creation. Paul considered it to be “of first importance” that Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and was raised to life on the third day, all in accordance with what God had promised all along in the Scriptures (1 Corinthians 15:3).
On Good Friday we remember the day Jesus willingly suffered and died by crucifixion as the ultimate sacrifice for our sins (1 John 1:10). It is followed by Easter, the glorious celebration of the day Jesus was raised from the dead, heralding his victory over sin and death and pointing ahead to a future resurrection for all who are united to him by faith (Romans 6:5).
Ultimately Jesus gave up his life for our sins!  In the Old Testament under Jewish Law,  a sacrifice of an animal was offered for sin.  Jesus was the one and only perfect sacrifice for our sins so that we may live in eternity with the Lord and His only begotten Son.  Jesus said no one could come to the Father but through Him.
Have you made a commitment to God?  Have you invited Jesus into your heart, do you know how to?  When you pray inviting Jesus into your heart, and accept Him, that is when you are born again, meaning you start a new life in Christ.
I became born again in the 1980's while watching a TV Evangelist by praying that prayer.  If anyone had ever told me I would be doing that, I would have said "no way!"  But God was working in my life and in my family's life all at once.  God can use anyone or anything as His instrument.  I actually jumped for joy at the moment!  And I could not wait to tell everyone and any one!
I had previously been a Catholic and only knew an intercessional relationship to a punishing God who was unapproachable.  If you add anything to Jesus' dying on the Cross so we could be saved by Grace,  you deny His sacrifice.  You CAN have a personal relationship with God and Jesus, praying directly to them.  God has blessed me so much in these last 30 years after inviting Jesus into my heart!
Bow your head where you are right now and invite the Savior into your heart and accept God's gift of Salvation.  You do not have to start clouting people with a 2 x 4" to tell them about the Lord, just try to set a good example and God will give you the words to say when you have opportunity to share and invite.  Amazing Grace, How Sweet the Sound!  ♫ ♫  I think this is one of the most popular Hymns ever written.
Thank you for coming.  If you have questions, please ask and I will answer or get the answer for you if I do not know.
This Friday, think of the agony Christ endured on the Cross because God so loved the world that he gave us the gift of His Son.

EASTER SEASON

EASTER is one of my favorite holidays if not THE favorite!  I love celebrating the Resurrection of our Lord.  Palm Sunday will be here soon, where has the time gone?

MAT 21:1-11

Now when they drew near to Jerusalem and came to Bethphage, to the Mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples, saying to them, “Go into the village in front of you, and immediately you will find a donkey tied, and a colt with her. Untie them and bring them to me. If anyone says anything to you, you shall say, ‘The Lord needs them,’ and he will send them at once.” This took place to fulfill what was spoken by the prophet, saying, “Say to the daughter of Zion, ‘Behold, your king is coming to you, humble, and mounted on a donkey, and on a colt, the foal of a beast of burden.’”

Even though Jesus wished to come into the city humbly, his followers laid palms in his pathway.

It was a practice of people's of the east to cover the ground that someone of high honor was walking on. You can see this happening in the Bible with king Jehu when the people lay their garments before him in 2 Kings 9:13. In Matthew and Mark's gospels only tree branches and clothes are described as being laid before Jesus. John is the only author who specifies "Palm" branches.

The idea is the same though: The people were honoring
Jesus the way they would honor a king.  So to answer the question of why the people lay palm branches before Jesus we have to ask what the people thought of Jesus to make them honor him in this way.

So the simplest answer to the question of why is that the Jewish people who lay palms and clothes before Jesus wanted to honor him because they thought he was their Messiah.

So the best way to understand the Bible is to read it more and more.  If the formal translations confuse you, buy a copy of "THE BOOK" published by Tyndale House (any bookstore) as it is a comprehensive Bible written in plain language that you will understand.  I use it as a wonderful cross reference to bible reading as it does not take the place of the Bible but rather makes you want to read the original after reading the plain text.  The Book also has many helps such as how to prayer for specific needs which is very helpful when you are in a situation and do not know how to pray for that specifically.

God bless you friends and do come again.  Celebrate the coming of Christ on Palm Sunday.

Christian movie trend for 2014

I was very encouraged to see that there is a trend in Christian movies this year!
Son of God is the first to be shown on February 28th.

Here is a list of the Top 7 Anticipated Christian movies:

NOAH, EXODUS, GOD'S NOT DEAD, LEFT BEHIND,
GIMME SHELTER, HEAVEN IS FOR REAL (True story), SON OF GOD.  Source: Faith and Entertainment site.

As my minister said, "we don't know how much of the movies will be true to the Bible",  so may you have the power of discernment when viewing and do not be led astray if the Bible accounts are not exactly the same.  But I think this is encouraging in this present day when they won't let us pray at school or say the Pledge of Allegiance because it says, "One Nation under God".  We took pride in saying the pledge each morning and it taught us to love out country and be loyal.

Let us all pray for God to return to America in our daily lives.  Thank you for coming and I hope you found today's post informative and interesting.  God's blessings to you all.

My Christian Valentine to You!

February has crept in and January is now a memory!  How fast time passes by in our earthly life!  But the Lord's timing is eternal, never ending, and never rushed~ even though he can and will change our lives in the blink of His eye...
Isaiah 40:31 is one of my most favorite verses.
"But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength: They shall mount up with wings as eagles; They shall run, and not be weary and they shall walk, and not faint."  Are these not words to live by?  I have an elderly friend, even older than me-ha!  She, knowing this was my favorite verse, printed it for me in calligraphy and framed it for me.  I treasure such a gift and have it hanging always on my wall.

What is your favorite verse?  What inspires you and reinforces your faith?  Surround yourself with reminders of God, His wisdom, His great works, His never-ending love, His Grace and Goodness.  When you surround yourself in the Word of God, you will find comfort, hope, strength to face anything that comes your way.  For if God is with us, who can be against us?  Another favorite!  Roman's 8:31

"And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified. What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?" Romans 8:28-31

Have you ever noticed that a person loving God and living by His way, seem to have a glow about them, a light in their eyes glowing from within and a happy countenance despite their circumstances.  I have always noticed this.  I think it is because they don't let the evils of this world color their life resulting in wrinkles melting away and softness of heart and God lives within them.

Do you want to feel that way?  All you need to do is invite God into your heart along with His Son, Jesus who died on the cross for all of us and our sins.  A one-time sacrifice never needing another.  Accept God's gift by thanking Him for coming into your heart (being born again because you start your life anew as a Christian.)  Share the Joy of your Salvation.  When I did this, I jumped up off my couch and jumped for Joy!  It was back in the 1980's and though I thought I was a Christian before that, I knew that it was at that moment that I became a new being in Christ.

2 Corinthians 5:17

New International Version (NIV)
17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!

And the Lord says we must confess with our mouths

Romans 10:9

Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

A change of heart, a change of mind.  All you need to do is accept.  Any questions?  Write me.  May you all be blessed each and every day and I pray you have taken a blessing away with you today, it would be my JOY!

A BLESSED MORNING TO YOU!

I have missed you all!  My computer has been down and I really missed it!  It is a great way to communicate the love of the Lord, though a worldly thing :)

Have you heard of "The Fullness of Time"?  In the Bible Christ came in the Fullness of Time.  Alexander the Great had built great roads facilitating the spread of the Gospel like no other time in history.

He also declared Greek as the dominate language, also aiding the spread of the good news far and wide.  He was not aware that he was doing these things for Christianity but God can use anyone as his instrument and it is so true in these recorded historical events.

I love having miracles explained.  It does not lessen my faith but only reinforces it!  The incident of God speaking to Moses from the burning bush for example.  There are bushes in the east that contain so much oil in their leaves that in the heat of day, can bring about spontaneous combustion.  I love this!  It does not mean that God did not cause it, but what a way to get someone's attention.  It can happen just that way and is not just a "story". Exodus 3
I am fascinated learning all of the ways the "Fullness of Time" came into being and thus 'paved' the way for the coming of Christ.

I hope you take away a blessing today and please leave a comment or a prayer request as I treasure them.

Wishing you serenity today....

Kerrie

"GET SERVICE"

Please see the video in sidebar :)

A friend posted this video on FaceBook and I thought it was excellent!  I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!  What a great Christian teaching tool!

I was in a chain reaction4 car accident yesterday afternoon and am walking gingerly today and having a bit of pain from lower back to neck.  So I did not go to church and really hate it when I cannot go!  I hope you all made it to church today and that you are having a blessed Sunday.
